The 549 TCG test identifies the presence of genes that causes diseases transmissible to offspring. Carriers are often healthy people, but if both parents are carriers of a mutation of the same gene, they may have a child affected with a particular disease. This test allows us to detect up to 600 diseases.

What happens when a genetic mutation is detected. If detected in only one member of the couple, nothing happens as it is be recessive, if detected in both there is a high risk of having a child affected by the disease

Options

The options in these cases are:

Genetic compatibility test

    • Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, to select healthy embryos and continue the process of embryonic transfer.
    • Gamete donation. Substituting the carrier of the genetic abnormality’s gametes with eggs or sperm from a donor who does not carry the mutation.
