Ley 14/2006 26 de Mayo

• Any woman over 18 years of age and with full capacity to act may be a recipient or user of the techniques regulated in this Law, provided that she has given her written consent to their use freely, consciously and expressly. The woman may be a user or recipient of the techniques regulated in this Law regardless of her marital status and sexual orientation.
• The woman receiving the techniques may request that they be suspended at any time during their performance, and her request must be addressed.
• The donation will be anonymous and will have to guarantee the confidentiality of the identity data of the donors of the gametes by the banks, as well as, if applicable, by the donor registries and activity centers that are established.
• They can also be used in the prevention and treatment of diseases of genetic or hereditary origin, when it is possible to resort to them with sufficient diagnostic and therapeutic guarantees, and they are strictly indicated.
• The affiliation of those born with assisted reproduction techniques will be regulated by civil laws. In Spain, maternal affiliation is determined by childbirth (the woman who gives birth to the child is always the legal mother).
